#Maverick

[mæv.ər.ɪk]

noun

A person who thinks and acts in an independent way, often behaving differently from the expected or usual way.

I was never one to follow the rules. Traditional HR? Broken. Performance management? Outdated. Recruitment? Biased. For years, I felt something was off—like we were forcing people into systems that weren’t designed for them. So, I did what any Maverick would do: I challenged everything.

I’m Peter van Hoof, the founder of Cultology and the creator of Human Experience Management (HXM). My journey—from years in HR leadership to a personal transformation that reshaped my entire philosophy—led me to one conclusion: HR was built for control, not for people. It’s time to change that.

I speak up, I disrupt, and I push organizations to rethink the way they treat their people. The future of work isn’t about micromanagement or policies—it’s about inner work, personal growth, and human potential. And if that makes me a Maverick, so be it.

Who I am is what I’ve tried depicting on my website and is what you can expect when working with me:

🖌 The Graffiti-wall – Creative, rebellious, and critical-thinking.
📚 The Stack of books – Curious, inspiring, and innovative.
🚴 The Racing-bike – Highly efficient, goal-oriented, forward-thinking, and prudent.
🌿 The Plant-wall – Harmonious, intelligent, symbiotic, and in balance like a healthy ecosystem.

So why am I doing this?

My purpose is to be a force for good with a high level of moral ambition because I believe that within every human being lies huge potential and uniqueness—something we have forgotten to embrace. When we all take responsibility and commit to truly looking at ourselves, the world will be in a much better place. This is my core belief, and it drives everything I do.
